THE GOLDEN STATE STANDARD

No surprise change orders.

The price we agree upon is the price you can expect to pay. We carefully evaluate and price your project upfront so you can move forward with confidence and without unexpected costs along the way. If the agreed-upon scope of work remains the same, your price remains the same. A change order is only issued when you request a change, upgrade, or additional work outside the original scope. It’s a simple commitment: no surprises, no unnecessary change orders, and complete transparency from start to finish.

Why we wrote it down

Contractors run on promises. Ours are in writing.

Everyone in this business says “quality craftsmanship.” So we put our commitments where they can be held against us: no change orders once a quote is signed, a written estimate within 24 hours of the site visit, the owner inspecting every stage of the work, and a deposit capped at $1,000, which is what California law actually requires, and what most contractors quietly ignore.

We once opened a bathroom wall and found mold that wasn't in the plan. We remediated it and finished the job at the quoted price. That's what GS-01 means.

“If we tell you $25,000 for the job, you'll spend $25,000 for the job. We don't open up the wall and start minting money out of the customer.”

Remodeling, systemized.

Avi spent twenty years in process engineering before building homes. This is what a remodel looks like when someone runs it like a system.

01SITE WALK

Walk the space

A real site visit: measurements, structure, what you want the room to do. Same-day appointments available, evenings and weekends included.

02FIXED QUOTE

Your quote in 24 hours

A written, itemized, fixed estimate within 24 hours. Valid for 60 days. No pressure calls.

03BUILD

Build on schedule

A crew that shows up when we said, run to a schedule you can see. Deposit capped at $1,000 by law. The rest is billed as work completes.

04OWNER INSPECTION

Owner inspection

Avi walks the finished work personally before we call it done. If it isn't right, it gets made right.

Where we build

Built for the South Bay.

From the Palos Verdes peninsula to the beach cities: homes with ocean air, strict HOAs, and owners who expect the work done right.

The owner

Twenty years of process engineering. Then he picked up a hammer.

Avi spent two decades inside Ford and Kaiser Permanente as a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, then learned the contracting business the hard way, building his own home through a parade of unreliable contractors. Golden State Construction is his answer: remodeling run with the discipline of a factory floor and the accountability of a neighbor.
